We are partnering with “Isaiah 117 House” to raise money for children in foster care. When children are removed from their homes out of concern for their safety, they are usually brought to a child welfare services office to await placement. This wait can be a few hours to several days. These children often have nothing with them and are scared, lonely, hungry, and in dirty clothes. Isaiah 117 provides a comforting home where these children can be brought to a safe place with friendly and loving volunteers who provide clean clothes, smiles, toys, and snuggly blankets instead. This space allows children to receive the comfort and care they need while child welfare staff can do the necessary paperwork and identify a good placement.
This challenge is active anytime between Sept. 4th and Sept. 24th. All lemonade should be FREE and opportunity made available for donations only (no set price). Otherwise, you have LOTS of flexibility. You can go CRAZY with decorations or simply put a table at the end of the driveway. You can hold a stand for one hour or as long as you would like all throughout the weekend. You can do lemonade only, or you can offer cookies, cupcakes, etc. This is a GREAT way for kids to help kids!
